Yes, the MTN initial public offer closed on Monday 22 November 2021.
Does the closure of the offer mean I can no longer buy shares?
You can still buy MTN shares on the stock market / Uganda Securities Exchange starting 6 December 2022 at the prevailing market price. Please talk to a licenced stock broker for assistance.
When will I receive the MTN shares that I applied for?
You will receive the shares allocated to you including the bonus shares on Friday 3 December 2021.
When will MTN be listed on the stock exchange?
MTN will be listed on the Uganda Securities Exchange on Monday 6 November 2021.
What will the share price of MTN be on the stock exchange?
The share price will open at 200 shillings but thereafter be determined by demand and supply, and share price may go up or down.
What do I do if I wish to sell my MTN shares?
If you wish to sell your shares, kindly contact your licensed stock broker for assistance.
How will I know the share price of MTN after it lists on the stock exchange?
Once MTN is listed, the price can be viewed on the USE website https://www.use.or.ug/content/market-snapshot. The share prices also are published in the mainstream newspapers and TV stations. Also contact your licenced stock broker for updated market reports.
Now that the offer has closed, what next?
MTN will allocate shares to those who applied, following its allotment policy in the prospectus. The shares will then credited on your SCD account on 3 December 2021 and then MTN will list on the stock exchange on 6 December 2021.
